Volvo S60 Art Session

Posted by Peter in Arts and Cultural Influences | Comments Off

To promote their latest S60 luxury Sedan, Volvo Cars Switzerland have conducted an experiment that fuses their new design with street art.

10 Switzerland-based graffiti artists from around the world captivated commuters at Zurich’s main train station when they were given the opportunity to get creative with the new S60. They were given a white-washed model of the new luxury car, which was backed with a large blank canvas, and asked to paint, spray and style it.

The experiment was spread over 5 days in February this year (9th – 13th), with each artist being allocated half a day to work on their creation. It was also captured by a camera at 10 second intervals, which has now been made into a 3 minute video to document the event. Anouk Poelmann, the President of Volvo Cars Switzerland has revealed that the idea behind this was to “express and emphasise in a creative way, the design of the Volvo S60”.
