The Magma fireplace
Take the warmth and comfort of the traditional fireplace, mix this with a contemporary and innovative concept and you get the latest development in functional home furnishings…
The Magma Fireplace is a decorative, yet efficient way of keeping warm and creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere in your home. Inspired by the energy of the volcano, The Magma Fireplace is environmentally friendly and can be moved and re-positioned just like a piece of furniture. It doubles as a coffee table and is the perfect seasonal product, providing warmth in the winter and practicality in the summer. It also saves the trouble and mess of maintaining a real fireplace.
Magma resembles the different layers of the Earth, with a colour scheme that changes from red to grey, which helps to create a serene atmosphere. The flames emerge from the middle, much like a real volcano, using bio-ethanol fire. Bio-ethanol is a type of alcohol produced from sugar beet and is considered to be a low carbon and sustainable energy source. This concept is becoming increasingly popular with home-heating products as it generates over 3.5 KW of heat and produces a real flame; however, it doesn’t require any fuel or gas to run. This also means that it doesn’t produce smoke, soot or ashes like a real fire and is able to be placed anywhere in the home.
London-based company, Flying Cavalries Fireplaces aim to create a feature of the fireplace, turning a traditional room staple into a chic and stylish ornament. Other editions of this innovative heat source include; Aurora: a modern and elegant, natural stone surface table that takes inspiration from the polar lights, and Hillside: a combination of a sofa chair and coffee table that integrate perfectly together.
