Piaget creates cocktail-inspired rings

Posted by in Façonnable Lifestyle | Comments Off

Swiss brand Piaget has created a new line of ‘cocktail rings’ that resemble some of the most iconic cocktails to add to their Limelight Collection.

The brand has welcomed six new additions, each named after a drink. There’s the Whiskey on the Rocks, made of 18 carat yellow gold with a citrine stone in the middle, and 2 quartz stones cut to look like ice cubes. The perpetual popularity of the Cosmopolitan cocktail is immortalised in diamonds with a flaming rubelite stone set in a bed of diamonds and finished with a jewelled star fruit. The simple White Tonic channels the suave nature of Bond with its salute to the traditional Martini drink; a base of diamonds with a green ‘olive’ on the side. The Blue Ocean is formed of a huge blue topaz stone, with a coralline bead to represent a cherry. It is then completed with a tiny diamond straw. The Blueberry Daiquiri is based around a cushion-cut Amethyst and finished with a diamond staw, and pink sapphire umbrella.

Perhaps the most intricate and powerful is the Mojito ring. It is constructed with 18 carat white gold and encrusted with 182 diamonds. Representing the ‘drink’ is a 24 carat green tourmaline, with a 3 carat citrine stone to resemble a lime. In addition, there are small emeralds that clasp the tourmaline to form ‘mint leaves’.

Piaget was voted the 6th Most Prestigious jewellery brand in 2008, and has since continued to enthral jewellery enthusiasts with its attention to detail and innovative creations. It is also known for its sometimes playful creations, such as its multimedia-inspired diamond studded Quick Response Code – an extensive amount of diamonds constructed the pattern of the technological barcode that can be uncoded with mobile phones.
