When it was launched in December of 2008, the motivation behind Flight 112’s ‘Unique Wine Experience’ was for everyday people to have a luxury but organic wine experience.  Two year’s later Flight 112 is swiftly escalating in reputation and popularity, living proof that luxurious lifestyles can indeed be organic and not wasteful.

Flight 112 is an organic, luxury wine house situated in the infamous Mecca Building in Elmhurst. The Mecca Building houses the Glitch Art Gallery, which strives to create a unique and organic atmosphere. ‘Wellness’ also lies within Mecca’s walls, which provides chiropractor and wellness services, including massage therapy, acupuncture and nutritional counselling. Innovation, excellence, personalized attention is also transpired into Mecca’s Efigy Salon, which offers haircuts, colouring, re-texturizing and nail services.

Although it is the Flight 112 wine house, which focuses on providing organic, luxury wines in the most relaxing and serene of ambiences that is the most remarkable quality of the Mecca building. Recycling is an imperative feature of this luxury winery and Flight 112 recycles all the cardboard, the bottles and the bottle corks that pile through its doors.

Flight 112 is not stranger to hosting aspirational lifestyle events, which prove wine can be included into a regime dedicated towards promoting health and wellbeing. On Friday 5 November 2011, the ‘Arte at Night: Food for Life’ event will be taking place at Flight 112. The evening is dedicated to encouraging an attitude that the ‘art of giving back is on the rise in Elmhurst!’ As it certainly is at Flight 112, as the luxurious wine house is inviting guests to come an indulge in an evening dedicated to self-pampering, including being absorbed in the most exquisite and delicious of organic wines and consuming the most scrumptious of organic food, for a pittance of a price. Ten percent of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the United Community Concerns Association.

Whilst we can tend to jealously associate those indulging themselves in enviable and lavish lifestyles, supping quality wines in the most tasteful of ambiences as posers, Elmhurst’s Mecca building and Flight 112 is a refreshing reminder that luxury lifestyles need not damage the planet or even the bank.
