Dream Symphony: The Biggest Sailing Yacht to Date

Posted by in Façonnable Inspirations | Comments Off

Two Superyacht manufacturers have joined forces to create what is set to be the largest sailing yacht in the world.

After taking part in the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, exclusive motor-sailing manufacturers Dream Ship Victory have signed a contract with leading naval architecture experts Dykstra and Partners to create Dream Symphony. Yacht designer, Ken Freivokh is also going to be responsible for the yachts design and styling, which has been described as “classical with a twist” – it will mix a classic yacht design with contemporary features.

The Yacht will be an impressive 141 metres long, earning it the title of the largest sailing yacht in history. But there’s something even more impressive about this yacht – it will be made entirely of wood. This is one of Dream Ship Victory’s specialities and something that has given the company a strong reputation for creating some of the world’s most exclusive megayachts. They also have the 65 metre-long Mikhail Vorontsov currently being made in Holland, as well as 2 other yachts under construction; the 55 metre Princess Marina, and the 42 metre Imagination.

Dream Symphony will commence production in Dream Ship Victory’s yard in Turkey during 2011.
