The 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup

The QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup returns for its 46th edition in October and the Cote d’Azur has been chosen as the centre of the world’s leading bowlers.

Having recently been relocated from Zagreb, Croatia, it is to take place in Toulon, Provence at the western end of the French Riviera. This charming area is also renowned as a major centre for fishing and winemaking. The World Cup will be held at the Bowling de Provence bowling club, a sports club that boasts around 44 bowling lanes. It is also the third time that France has welcomed the Bowling World Cup, having taken place in Paris in 1967 and then again in LeMans in 1992.

Polo Excursion in Argentina

The 2,500 acre Estancia El Venado guest ranch in Argentina is offering visitors the opportunity to participate in an exclusive polo excursion.

The beautiful ranch owned by pro polo player Federico Cendoya was founded in the 1800s and is located 100 miles South of Buenos Aires. It has been passed down through four generations of the Cendoya family and fully embraces its Argentinean polo heritage.

The Rolex Middle Sea Race 2010

Also known as the Rolex Fastnet race of the Mediterranean, The Rolex middle Sea Race is regarded as one of the most infamous events in the yachting calendar and this year marks the 31st edition since the race was started in 1968. Malta provides a breathtaking backdrop to this world-class sporting event in 2010. This year the event takes place on Saturday 23rd October 2010.

This race was co-founded by the Royal Malta Club and the Royal Ocean Racing Club and is considered to be a first class event for sailing enthusiasts and spectators alike. The race attracts around 80 boats in recent years and the challenge is exciting – crews have to tackle 600 nautical miles of gruelling conditions, starting miles from Malta’s Grand Harbour and then heading north along the Eastern coasts of Sicily up towards the Straits of Messina.

The French Riviera Marathon 2010

With just two events under its belt so far, the French Riviera Marathon has worked hard to gain its status as the second largest running event in France, losing out to the Paris Marathon, which celebrated its 33rd edition last April 2009. This relatively new sporting event welcomed 10,438 runners in 2009 and is once again ready to race all over again on Sunday 14th November 2010.

Polo World Championship 2011

It was recently announced that Argentina has won their bid to host the 9th edition of the FIP Polo World Championships in October 2011. Whilst all of the in-depth details are not yet known, here are the key details that have been announced so far…

The preliminary games will be played at the Estanda Grande Polo Club in San Luis, before the actual competition moves to Palermo, Buenos Aires. There will be four polo grounds and stabling for around 280 horses. There has also been a pooling system put in place for horses so as to limit the transportation costs for moving horses around the world. The draw of the horses’ pool will be completed on the 12th October 2010.
