We can all remember in 2009 when the then Manchester United star Christiano Ronaldo crashed his Ferrari in a tunnel near Manchester airport. Months later Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner was left ‘badly shaken’ after he managed to mangle his £120,000 Aston Martin around a tree. Although the numbers of professional footballers who, with more money than sense, just shrug off crashing their six figure luxury cars seem to be escalating every year, it is not just wayward young footballers who are guilty of such senseless acts. Swiss brand Piaget has created a new line of ‘cocktail rings’ that resemble some of the most iconic cocktails to add to their Limelight Collection.
The brand has welcomed six new additions, each named after a drink. The simple White Tonic channels the suave nature of Bond with its salute to the traditional Martini drink; a base of diamonds with a green ‘olive’ on the side. The Blue Ocean is formed of a huge blue topaz stone, with a coralline bead to represent a cherry. It is then completed with a tiny diamond straw. The Blueberry Daiquiri is based around a cushion-cut Amethyst and finished with a diamond staw, and pink sapphire umbrella.
