Orbital Technologies, a Moscow-based firm have proposed the idea of a Commercial Space Station to serve as a hub for travellers and as overspill accommodation for the International Space Station.
The plan is to create a four-room guest house that will be in orbit by 2016. Guests would be ferried from Earth to the hotel in a shuttle that is usually used to transport cosmonauts to the International Space station (ISS). It will follow the same orbit as the ISS and promises to provide greater comforts to space tourists in the place of the often cramped conditions within the ISS. Orbital Technologies have also revealed that guests will also be able to look at the Earth through large portholes.

A train establishing a direct link between Moscow and the French Riviera was launched in September 2010 and is set to fulfil a growing demand for luxury railway travel in Russia.
The route between Russia and France has existed since the late 19th Century and was used to transport wealthy Russians to resorts along the Cote d’Azur, but it was then abandoned in 1914. Now, after a century’s break, the train line has been restored by Russian railway company RZD who aim to provide an alternative to plane travel. Trains are the most popular method of transport in Russia and these luxury carriages will no doubt appeal to affluent Russians that wish to visit the South of France. The 12-car train will depart once a week and will travel a distance of 3,000 miles. The journey takes just over 50 hours to reach its final destination in Nice, including stopovers in Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and France.

Florida’s cultural side is somewhat veiled to the masses, many of whom erroneously associate it as a state strewn with noisy families, brash resorts and Disneyworld. Recognizing Florida as encompassing a unique beauty, emanating sophistication and charm, John Ringling and his wife chose to build their winter home in the stunning surroundings of Sarasota Bay before constructing the Museum of Art in 1931. In doing so, the Ringling’s also created an air of culture, intellectualism and artistic inspiration to eternally hang over Sarasota’s streets.
Today Ringling’s legacy has been cultivated onto an international scale within the world of arts, and the artistically elite now flock to the west coast of Florida to catch a breath of the inspirational artistic air that suspends over the towns here. Given its uncanny knack for providing artistic inspiration – a privilege revealed by the many world-class ballet, opera, theatre and musical shows displayed here – Sarasota is arguably the only place in the world that deserves to host the Ringling International Arts Festival.
