As Britain gets ready to award its prestigious art prize to one lucky contender, the Tate Britain is preparing its annual exhibition to demonstrate the talents of the shortlisters.
The Turner Prize is a contemporary art award which was set up in 1984 to celebrate new developments in the art world. It is awarded to an up-and coming British artist under the age of fifty every year based on presentation of their work within a 12 month period. Four artists are shortlisted each year and an exhibition is dedicated to their work at Tate Britain.

Florida’s cultural side is somewhat veiled to the masses, many of whom erroneously associate it as a state strewn with noisy families, brash resorts and Disneyworld. Recognizing Florida as encompassing a unique beauty, emanating sophistication and charm, John Ringling and his wife chose to build their winter home in the stunning surroundings of Sarasota Bay before constructing the Museum of Art in 1931. In doing so, the Ringling’s also created an air of culture, intellectualism and artistic inspiration to eternally hang over Sarasota’s streets.
Today Ringling’s legacy has been cultivated onto an international scale within the world of arts, and the artistically elite now flock to the west coast of Florida to catch a breath of the inspirational artistic air that suspends over the towns here. Given its uncanny knack for providing artistic inspiration – a privilege revealed by the many world-class ballet, opera, theatre and musical shows displayed here – Sarasota is arguably the only place in the world that deserves to host the Ringling International Arts Festival.

Beirut welcomes innovative British artist Marc Quinn in a showcase of his thought-provoking paintings and sculptures between 29th September and 9th October, and Faҫonnable is proud to be a supporter of this ground-breaking exhibition.
He is considered to be one of the UK’s most important artists of our time and is often associated with the YBAs (Young British Artists), a group that has swarmed the art world with unique artistic talents. However, Quinn is the first of this group to branch out and exhibit his work in the Middle East.
