The French Riviera is renowned for its festivals and celebrations of arts and culture, and one of the busiest winter events is the Nice Carnival.
One of the largest carnivals in the world, the Nice Carnival has a strong reputation to maintain year after year. The theme for 2011 is King of the Mediterranean, a homage to the history of the carnival, and its prominent role in Nice’s past, present and future. Based on the Promenade des Anglais, crowds of spectators follow decorated floats that eventually work their way up to the Place Masséna.

Singapore has debuted the world’s first VIP Crystal cable car to provide luxury transportation to the tourist hotspot, Sentosa Island.
The new cable cars are guaranteed to dazzle passengers with Swarovski crystal panels on the floor and roof, black leather interiors and Swarovski-studded armrests. They also have LED-illuminated exteriors with a black metallic and chrome structure. They will run on the existing monocable ropeway that connects tourist favourites, Mount Faber and Sentosa Island – providing breathtaking views along the way. The trip will last 13 minutes, and costs around $24-$26 each way.
