“God save the Queen” Kate Middleton by Zoobs

Posted by in Arts and Cultural Influences | (4) Comments

The first portrait of Kate Middleton as Queen of England has arrived and as expected, it’s an eye opener.

Kate Middleton “The Next Pistol”, is sure to love this mix media portrait, based on the Iconic “God Save The Queen” album cover by the Sex Pistols.

The original cover famously featured Ms Middleton’s future Gran, or Queen Elizabeth 2nd to you and me. Zoobs, the artist responsible for the Kate Middleton image, has created a tongue in cheek modern classic.

Zoobs has created 100 individual prints of the original Kate Middleton picture, which will be sold with the profits going to Zoobs chosen Charity “Freedom from Sorrow”.

The portrait has only just been unveiled at The Opera Gallery, Bond Street, London. The Opera Gallery is known for supporting both new and established artists from around the world.

From Impressionist to Modern and Contemporary art, the Opera Gallery covers all styles and 150 years of art history.

Zoobs the artist is now part of that rich history, with his unique take on the future queen of England.

Maybe Kate will save us all? – if we are going to believe in something, let’s have faith that her glamour, style and new thinking will bring forth innovation and success in the UK. The kind of innovation that is ever present in your work, Zoobs.
