Façonnable and GQ Come Together for a Night of Memorable Covers and Modern Fashion
NEW YORK — When is fashion art? When it’s handsomely curated on the cover of GQ.
The internationally celebrated men’s fashion magazine created a pop-up installation of 15 of its most prized covers inside the Façonnable flagship on 5th Avenue in New York on November 3, 2011.
Called ART + STYLE, the exhibition also had a philanthropic component. Five of the iconic covers, blown up to 24 x 30, were auctioned off, with a portion of the proceeds going to donorschoose.org, an organization that helps funds school programs throughout the US.
The art auction-cum-fashion-preview drew GQ editors and New York’s fashionable set. Close to 200 guests took in the vintage covers as they shopped Façonnable’s stellar fall collection.
Following the inaugural event, the remaining covers were given to the charities of choice of Façonnable’s top clients to be used in future silent auctions. Simply put: Art, altruism and great men’s fashion are the cornerstones of timeless personal style.
